The bottom line is that we need to work hard, work smart, and be aware that brick and mortar is slowly giving way to specialty retailers. E commerce, social media is the way we are moving and fast. Applications on your phone is where people are looking not on their home computers. You must have a web presence that works on a phone and that also can do many things that a big web site can do and quickly. I believe that change is happening and fast and I do not mean the election! People are surfing and searching on their phones and if you are not there or if Google does not like your web page you are well screwed sort of.
Responsive design if the buzz word and your web page has to have it! Content that is relevant is also very important. Some feel just put up pictures or links, this is no longer true, Google likes change and likes responsive and like relevant content.
Put a web site up that offers your prospective customers a gift or something and also track them by having them sign up for an e-mail news letter or an end of year give away. Be relevant, offer examples, offer tips and see the leads and sales come in!
