Some Google Adword Tips

From the horses mouth Google:

Include prices, promotions, and exclusives
If you have something special to offer, make sure your customers see it. People are usually searching to make a decision about something. Give them what they need to help make their decision. For example, if you're offering a 10% discount for a limited time, or have an exclusive product, don't forget to tell your customers!

Tell your customers what they can do
Are you selling? Tell them what they can buy. Are you offering a service? Tell them what they'll receive. Strong verbs like Purchase, Call today, Order, Browse, Sign up, or Get a quote tell your customers what they can expect to do when they arrive at your website.

Include at least one of your keywords in your ad text
Successful text ads tend to contain words that match a person's search. Including one of your keywords in your ad text can catch the attention of the people who searched for the keyword, and show that your ad is related to what they want. Additionally, the keyword you use will appear in bold in your ad, just like it does in the search results, making it more obvious how relevant your ad is. Let's say you include the keyword digital cameras in your ad's headline, like "Buy Digital Cameras," and a customer searches for digital cameras. Your ad's headline will appear in bold, like "Buy Digital Cameras." Your ad's headline could also appear in bold if a customer searched for buy SLR cameras, like "Buy Digital Cameras," since "buy" and "cameras" match words in the customer's search term.

What is next?

Since 1994 we have seen so much happen on the web it is mind boggling. I remember when the coolest thing in a web page was making something blink:) yes I said blink!  Front page was all the rage and multi media cd brochures were still in vogue.  The net was used at a 2400 baud rate and AOL was king. Does everyone remember those funny disks that came in the mail?  Do you remember that phrase "You have mail".  Remember the browser wars? There use to be a company called Netscape! Netscape lost the browser wars but another browser called Mozilla came to life. Then came a company called Yahoo! What was a Yahoo? Remember the phrase "YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
Then came Myspace, it was neat and new. Myspace grew and grew but then something happened it was called Facebook or originally it was called The Facebook, I believe. It did not take long for Myspace to flounder and Facebook to charge ahead. Remember Yahoo, another company called Google came along and we all know about them. Now Bing is charging forward but can it catch Google? Yes that 2400 baud communication rate now is well Google fiber and I can not even say how fast that is!! They are talking about drones to further push the internet to remote areas can you believe it?

Ok so what does the future hold for you and me? I think that all we have seen so much that has changed is only just a fraction of what we will soon see happen. Yes the Dick Tracy watch that will be our new communicator. How about those new 3D printers how far will that go, what cant we make or do. How small or powerful will our new laptops or tablets be? I think we have only just touched the surface of what those new tools will do. How about a super computer on your hand watch!

Where is Internet SEO and web marketing heading? A whole new era of changes are coming. Those soon to be realistic Facebook 3d goggles will take marketing to a new level and add smell and taste and feel and wow think of what that will do. Want to try a new product, put on the helmet and take a realistic test drive. Want to do a search on a company? Just think it and boom up it comes in 3d!

What I am trying to say is things change and you need to change with it. Use a company that can change with you and guide you into that future.  Use Rossini.com.

Until next time.

Another web tidbit

Eye-catching image

When visitors browse through the Internet, they’re naturally drawn to attractive visual objects or images. When including a life-size image or logo for the core segment of the site, make sure that it’s appealing enough to draw the visitors’ attention.
Remember, a good website layout is much more than attractive phrases or gaudy graphics; it’s more about implementing the right strategies. Above everything, it’s important to understand the goal of the website and how to reach there.

I personally like a rotating image or a slider that tells a story as it slides or rotates but I do not like huge images, what do you think?

Sound advice about your web site

This is a neat bit of advice from a fellow marketeer and I totally agree with it!

Effective Website Design - Add Some Boost To Your Small Business Venture
By
So, you’ve started a small business project and you’re satisfied with the average profit margin. If yes, it’s time to sit up and think again. Remember, a successful business includes three factors – smart investment, use of right strategies and gaining largest profits. If you lack one of these three factors, it’s time to take some initiative.
Even a kid knows the need of Internet in today’s world. Whether you’re a student, employee or business entrepreneur, a strong online presence is a must. What do you normally use the Internet for? Besides emailing your friends or chatting on social networking websites, you probably use it for searching different types of goods or services. When you need a particular product or service, such as gifts, clothes or gadgets, you can instantly search them over the Internet and find a local provider. You can also take help of the social media websites to find out the legitimacy of the organizations. These days, even small companies have a strong online presence – something crucial to take note of if you have a company of your own. Just having a company website isn’t enough. If you fail to have a meaningful online presence, your business will remain invisible to an enormous number of people – something that won’t make any business sense.

Back to me again :) I am stunned at the amount of small business people who do not have a website or have a free one that does nothing. You must be on the net today in many forms, social media, web pages, blogs and more. Participate and your wanted results will come!

Until next time!

Three big SEO mistakes!

1. Three popular cheap SEO services and their risks
Many businesses try to cut costs by hiring cheap SEO service providers. Do these SEO companies really offer search engine optimization and does it make sense to use these services?

Three popular cheap SEO services
There are many ways to get search engine optimization services for a low price. Here are the most popular:
1. The hosting company and the CMS vendor
Some hosting companies and content management system vendors include 'SEO' services in their packages.
These offers usually include automated tools that insert keywords and other code on your web pages and then they submit your site to Google and other search engines.

2. The son/cousin/nephew of someone who is great with computers

Maybe you know someone who knows someone who is really great with computers. They can 'fix the SEO' on your website and you will save a lot of money because they do not charge much.

3. The offshore company that will do everything for a low price

These companies often send unsolicited emails with great offers. They promise to build backlinks, optimize your web pages and a lot more for a low monthly fee. You just have to sit back while they do the work.

These offers don't look too bad and it might be tempting to use them.

Why you shouldn't use these cheap services

When it comes to search engine optimization, it does not make sense to cut costs at the expense of lost sales and revenue. All of the services above have in common that it can be risky to use them. For example:
  • The fully automated solutions offered by many hosting companies and CMS vendors are usually outdated methods that did work in the early 2000's. Nowadays, these methods don't work anymore. Some automated methods are considered spam and your website might get penalized if you use them. SEO isn't point-and-click anymore.

  • Your nephew might know how to code an HTML web page but that doesn't mean the he has any SEO knowledge. If your nephew is good with numbers, it still doesn't make sense to let him do your accounting (if you don't want to get in trouble with the tax office).

  • Many of the offshore companies use automated spam tools to 'promote' your website. Hiring these companies is often a sure way to get your website banned from Google in the long run. Some of these services even tweak the meta keywords tag of your web pages, which is a sure sign that they do not know what they're doing.
Search engine optimization is more than point-and-click

SEO is more than building a few links, adding a few keywords to your web pages. There's nothing that you can 'install' on your website and that's it.

The right visitors from search engines are crucial to the success of any website. It's important to understand that search engine optimiation is not a one-off project. If you focus on short-lived optimization tactics, you will get short-lived results.

It's much better to develop a long-term search engine optimization strategy. Tools and services that look expensive can save you money in the long run because you will get much better results.

(SEO is not snap your fingers and go, it takes work and time. Do not be fooled use a professional to help you but make sure you pick the right professional.)

Multiple marketing moves

I am a firm believer in using multiple marketing tools to make sales and bring leads. I use social media, I like it and it does work. I use Google Adwords and know that if used properly it is one of the more powerful means of getting sales and leads. I believe in using advanced reporting so to see what is working and what is not. I am not a big user of the free Google reporting program but it is better than not having reporting at all. I use a program called Hitslink and love it. It is powerful and it works. Know where you are and where you are going and see what part of your web page is working. I like using on line PR releases to tell the world of your success! It is a puzzle how so many companies are afraid to tell the world just how good they are???I like occasionally to do e-mail blasts but only in moderation. Still powerful but declining in my book. Believe it or not I like good old telephone calls it still works and better than you might think. I occasionally just to stay sharp make cold calls and in this weather baby it is a true cold call!!

What I am saying is that use multiple methods and you will find that leads will come your way.

Until next time.

SEO is it important?

Bottom line is it seems everyone is an expert now a days in the area of SEO but lets face it the playing field is not equal. There are those that saw only money and decided lets get in, they were web people or in some instances stock brokers or real estate agents and just like that they are an SEO wonderboy or girl! Remember nothing can match experience and knowledge. Some just buy a program and claim they are doing it all! What a person of experience will tell you is that there is no match for knowing how to do it yourself and using tried and true methods that still work today.  Remember a cheap price might just be that...a cheap price!  Interview your company and if they are an overseas company move on no run! More to come shortly on this topic.

Until next time
