Why your business should have a blog

There are many benefits of operating a business blog and updating it with quality content on a regular basis. Writing, publishing, and sharing blog post content is a great way to share expertise and insights about the industry in addition to sharing company updates and news. Over time, a blog can become a sort of community and can help a business establish and maintain relationships with target audience members and other stakeholders. These benefits should be enough to convince a business to operate a blog.

Become an expert. let your customers see that what you do works. Did you know that when I submit a company to the main search engines I increase visits to a web site by over 25%! Direct potential customers to your blog and tell them something about your business and why they should read the blog every time there is a new post.

Be an expert and let your customers or potential customers think more about your company and its products.

More to come soon.

PS

keep the website “fresh”
The search engines like to see (and favor) websites that are regularly updated. It proves that there’s someone on the other end and it’s not one of the many websites out there that have essentially been abandoned by its owners. Every new blog post that’s added to the website updates the website and is a reason for the search spiders to come back and crawl and index it again.

The marketing reasons alone (create a community, become a trusted resource) should be enough incentive to operate a business blog and keep it current. But if you want to increase organic search engine traffic to your website over time, blogging is critical. An evergreen blog post can continue to drive target audience members to a website for many years.

America’s second largest employer has a problem with its workforce, and according to the New York Times it’s going to take $700 million to fix it.
Amazon has announced that it will initiate a mass retraining program, covering about a third of its U.S. workforce, which amounts to about 100,000 people.
The program is said to be a response to the changing role of the warehouse worker, as Amazon continues to reinvent the fulfillment process using automation and robotics. And while this technology could technically threaten the jobs of those doing traditional warehouse work, it does so at the same time that Amazon finds itself in need of other skilled workers.
With that in mind, this re-training intends to add skills to make employees capable of filling the – as of now – about 20,000 open positions Amazon has nationwide. According to the report, the fastest-growing skilled jobs include “data mapping specialists, data scientists, security engineers, and logistics coordinators.”
And while Amazon contends that its training effort “isn’t a response to automation” and it still uses far more people than robots, VP of People Operations Ardine Williams said the initiative would allow warehouse workers to learn high-tech skills that could lead to new jobs within Amazon or at other companies – which sure makes it sound like they have too many traditional fulfillment workers even though business is booming. And my guess is, you can thank a robot for that.

How important are keywords?

From Google:

Step 1: set your goals
Of course, you want to get more traffic and you want to increase revenue. However, there's more to that when it comes to choosing the right keywords.
SEO is a long-term strategy. It takes some time to get high rankings for competitive keywords. If you want fast results, you have to start with low-competition keywords.
You also have to decide if you want to increase brand-awareness, or should visitors buy on your website? Do you need very targeted visitors, or is it enough to attract people who are only slightly interested in your offers?
Step 2: find your seed keywords
The seed keywords are the keywords that you use to start your keyword research. Seed keywords are search terms that consist of one or two words (sometimes three). These keywords usually have a high search volume and a high competition.
Think about what people might search for when they are looking for the products or services that you offer. Avoid jargon and try to use the words that your customers use.
Step 3: use the keyword suggestion tool
Use your seed keywords with the keyword suggestion tool in SEOprofiler. For example, one of your seed keywords might be 'tax software'. Enter that seed keyword in the keyword suggestion tool in SEOprofiler:
How to do keyword research: seed keywords
You will get many keyword suggestions that are related to the seed keyword. For every keyword, you will get the average monthly search volume, the search volume progression from January to December, the cost per click (CPC), the competition value, and the opportunity value.
It's not a good idea to start with high-competition keywords.
Keywords with a high competition value are keywords for which many websites advertise on Google Ads. In general, these keywords aren't a good start. You'll get quicker results by optimizing your web pages for less competitive keywords. Use the filters above the result list to sort the results by opportunity:
How to do keyword research: opportunities
The opportunity column shows how lucrative the keyword is. A high opportunity value means that it is relatively easy to get high rankings for the keyword, and that the keyword will send a good amount of visitors to your website.
The value is calculated by combining competition, CPC, searches, and the number of words in the keyword. You can also use the other filters above the list to find the keywords that you need. Click a keyword suggestion to refine the suggestions for that keyword.
Step 4: create keyword lists
Use your seed keywords and the filter methods above to find the best keywords for your website. Tick the checkboxes next to the keywords that you like and they will be added to the list of collected keywords at the bottom of the page:
How to do keyword research: collect keywords
Your keyword list should be as specific to your business as possible. Only relevant keywords will deliver good results.
Step 5: benefit from low hanging fruit
The keyword suggestion tool offers additional features. For example, it helps you to optimize pages of your website for your keywords, and you can check the rankings of your web pages for these keywords by adding the keywords to the ranking monitor.
The 'Opportunities' page of the ranking monitor shows you the pages for which your website already has rankings that do not get as many clicks as they could. By improving these rankings, you can quickly get many more website visitors.
Find your keywords now
Search engine optimization is an ongoing process. Optimize your web pages for your keywords and check how they perform. Keep on adding new keywords to your website and optimize your work to get as many targeted website visitors as possible. The SEO tools in SEOprofiler help you with that:
