This tip is from Manta but it is becomming more and more important:
Search engines often have a very difficult time understanding websites
which use Flash or Javascript to display content. Either move your
important content into regular text or make a text browser friendly
version to help with accessibility. Doing so will maximize the
visibility of your content in search results.
Also Java has become more and more under hacker attack and we recommend caution if using it.
