Recently I talked to a business owner and we had a great chat, we discussed many things about his business and how I could help him. Of course as I usually do I let out some secrets as to what I would do and I have no bad feelings about it it is just me. The next day that person used some of my ideas which in a way was a tremendous form of flattery, he believed in what I had to say! My point is he told me he spent hours the next day trying to do what I do everyday. The moral of the story is, what is your job and title? It is like that commercial on tv where the doctor comes in to pitch in a baseball game, you would not or should not want that. This person has a great company and he should be working hard to make that company work better not doing SEO. My company for a very small fee takes that burden from you, we are professionals and we know what we are doing and we spend hours everyday working hard for our clients so they can do what they know best and that is to run their company.
If you have an interest visit http://www.marketyourbusinessnow.com and see how I can help you!
Have a great weekend!

More on Facebook search
This is an interesting article by Web Pro News:
In other words, it's not so much about what Facebook has unveiled, as what Graph Search could evolve into. Could it evolve into a Google killer? Probably not, but who can say for sure? The reality is that it doesn't have to be a Google killer to be successful, and a useful tool for Facebook users. More time spent on Facebook (especially time spent using search on Facebook) has the potential to draw away some amount of ad spend from Google to Facebook, which really could hurt Google to some extent.
Facebook has a legitimate shot at being a real player in search because, for one, it has over a billion users already, and for two, because it can provide answers that Google can't. There is plenty of room for Facebook Graph Search to flourish with or without Google dominating traditional web search, because Graph Search is not traditional web search. In fact, one of the first things Zuckerberg said when he introduced the product on Tuesday, was that it is "not web search".
Facebook does utilize its partnership with Bing to add the web search element, and as Liz Gannes at All Things De writes, Graph Search should only help Google's case for increased competition in search when it comes to antitrust scrutiny.
Some have dismissed the offering as "not a big deal". I'm not so sure I agree with that. Either way, we at least owe it to Facebook to let the product show us what it can do before rushing to snap judgments. Give users a chance to figure out what they can do with it. Give Facebook a chance to move it forward out of beta, and add the stuff it really wants to add.

Facebook search?
Not much yet to say until I can try the new search engine by Facebook. One thing that many yet seem to know is that it at least for now will be out of the reach of a Google spider, so some 1 billion members will be a closed search for now. I wonder how long it will take before Google pays off Facebook big time to have a piece of that search pie? I also think that Google will ramp up efforts to push Google+ even harder. I use both and frankly I think it is a good thing to do and I recommend it.

Is there a benefit to go and have a new responsive web site
The web has changed so much over the past several years and we have been there for a lot of those changes! (Oh boy dating myself)! The bottom line is the web has changed again and the need to incorporate all platforms such as a phone or a tablet to a laptop so your web page will work on them all is now a fact. Soon very soon this will not be a maybe but a must have. The ability to reach so many more web surfers is so important. If you want to push a new product to a specific demographic such as 18 to 30 year olds then guess what....they are using tablets and Iphones or Androids. Responsive design coupled with SEO and good internal programming that allows those search engines to find you is very important.
Recently I was making keywords and titles and descriptions for responsive designs and let me tell you it took hours to do and do it right. I feel very good that my work will pay off. Responsive design allows the design to sort of shrink to display automatically to the device you are using. This is really neat to see but it does work and work well.
Does it cost more to program this? Yes it takes more time and it may cost a bit more now but ulitmately like all things, the price will come down to fit the demand and the market.
If you have an interest to learn more, feel free to e-mail me at jrossini@rossini.com or call me at 913-244-6132.

Latest search engine rankings
No surprise here, Google is still number one but I must say they are slowly dropping but are still very dominate. I have often said that I do not just submit for Google but other search engines as well and this shows you there are others to think about.

A listing from AXANDRA:
When we help a customer, we submit to them all or as many as we can because believe it or not, there are new search engines being released almost every day."Google Sites led the U.S. explicit core search market in December with 66.7 percent market share, followed by Microsoft Sites with 16.3 percent (up 0.1 percentage points) and Yahoo! Sites with 12.2 percent (up 0.1 percentage points). Ask Network accounted for 3 percent of explicit core searches, followed by AOL, Inc. with 1.8 percent (up 0.1 percentage points). [...]More than 17.6 billion explicit core searches were conducted in December (up 4 percent), with Google Sites ranking first with 11.8 billion (up 4 percent). Part 2 for what Google is looking at
What are commercial
keywords and how do they influence your backlink profile?
A commercial keyword is a keyword
with a high search volume or a keyword that has a high financial value,
for example "cheap flights" or "car insurance".
If 90% of the anchor texts in a backlink profile are commercial keywords, it is likely that the backlinks are spammy, especially if there are thousands of these links.
Andre says that a natural backlink profile usually has non-commercial keywords in the anchor texts (long tail keywords, the URL of the website, etc.)

As I have said often, key phrases of your business are the best. Don't just say dog, say cocker spaniel puppy.

What Google is looking at
This is from Axandra an interesting article
How does Google detect web spam?
I highly recommend that you use only 15 to 20 keyword phrases and not make them generic like dog. I also as the first part of this article states recommend using regular text that you make up and is relevant.

How does Google detect web spam?
Google uses on-page signals such
as keyword stuffing or hidden content. They also judge the quality of
the web page content. Any type of scraped, synonymized or poorly
written
text is seen as a spam signal.
In addition to the on-page signals, Google uses the backlink profile of a web page to detect spam. Google analyzes many different backlink elements: how many links are there in total? What is the quality of the pages they come in from? Do the pages look “real” or are they just there to host the links? What anchors texts are used? The commercial vs. non commercial ratio of the anchor texts.
