The old ways still work too

From Manta:

With so many marketing gadgets out there--from apps to the often-misunderstood QR code--don't forget about the trusty flyer. Remember telephone poles emblazoned with colorful paper, pitching everything imaginable? They worked then, and they can still work now. When you walk by something that catches your eye, you can't help but take a second glance! Design flyers that grab customers' attention, and pin them up locally. Your next sale could just be a few thumbtacks away!

I push new tech but I still think some of the older ways still work :)

The power of a web page!

One of our customers received a lead from their web page yesterday and it was for a service call.  This was not just any service call, it was from a husband in the field over seas and he was helping his family get an appliance repaired!  Now think of that, my customer received a lead from thousands of miles away and he will be helping a local family get an appliance fixed and possibly gaining a new customer for a long time!

Yes the power of the web, and web marketing and of course being a great company helps a lot!

More to come!

From Google and SEO tidbits

From Matt Cutts about Google and linking:

“Backlinks are a really, really big win in terms of quality for search results [... ] backlink relevance still really helps in making sure we return the best, most relevant, most topical set of search results.”

(Internal linking is also very important!)

Link building can be hard, but it is necessary
If you do not do it correctly, link building can lead to ranking penalties. That’s why it is important to become serious about link building. If you want to succeed with your online business, you must treat it as a real business.
Don’t use cheap, automated link building tools and services that create backlinks in bulk. It will backfire on you. Link building is not the same as link spamming. Link spamming will get your website penalized, link building will get your website on Google’s first result page.
Although necessary, it’s not enough to have web pages great content. That content will never be seen if your web pages do not get good backlinks.

Did you know that:

Most searchers (75%) never look further than page one.
Usability expert Jakob Nielsen points out: "Users almost never look beyond the second page of search results." Danny Sullivan, Search Engine Marketing Columnist, puts it this way: "Being listed 11 or beyond means that many people may miss your website."
For that reason, search engine optimization is crucial if you want to be successful with your website

Did you know:

choose your keywords carefully
Take some time to find the right keywords for your website. The most obvious keywords usually aren't the best keywords.

Ok more to come soon!
